| Another ‘first’ and
a ‘last’ was the Overland being hauled by triple 900
class locomotives, not unusual in itself as that was common practice for the
Overland to be hauled by three 900 class locomotives
that departed the Adelaide
Railway Station.

Again, not unusual perhaps, as the 900 class were to use the ARPT under the
guise of ARHS and SteamRanger; the motive power usually 909 and 907 or 909
solo hauling the SteamRanger special(s) to Victor Harbor during the winter
months. |

The Pirie passenger was also occasionally hauled by a 900 class loco
and on this occasion photographed by the late Alan White.
