Only building.

In S.A.Railways days the Broad Gauge track continued on to Port Pirie through Nurum.
When the BG track was standardised it deviated across to Crystal Brook from Merriton where it
joined up to the once Narrow Gauge Peterborough - Port Pirie track also standardised.
All Standard Gauge trains leaving Adelaide for the West, or to the East deviate at Crystal Brook.

PORT PIRIE

First, a quick trip back in time to those earlier SAR railway days

Port Pirie Junction (Solomontown) c.1960s.
Signal cabin can be seen on other side of the narrow gauge tracks.

The Port Pirie Junction station (above) now long gone, was replaced by the newer Port Pirie station (below).
Port Pirie Junction station was just down from where the newer non operational Port Pirie station is now.
