Training
day 3rd September 2008
Train chasing
day was good considering there were no trains running to the WEST due to the MT CHRISTIE
track works damage /derailment a few days ago. Train
Controller advises that there are normally up to about 12 trains on
Wednesdays, Thursday's, Saturdays and Sundays. However there were only about four-five due to track closures..
Covered about 800 kilometres with Jeff in his Ford XR6, went to Crystal Brook saw a couple of NR's going through there. Into Pirie, met up with Doug - watched the Balco train loading the containers in what was once the old Pirie yards, down near opposite the silos/ adjacent to the old PIRIE Station - an ex NSW 45 class along with the 18 class both painted in red/yellow/black scheme.
