North Terrace 19th October 2007 |
Due
to having extra time this morning, I decided to go
from ADELAIDE RWS to the END of THE LINE and take
the TRAM to CITY WEST for a change. The trip
there was uneventful, it is after all only a short
distance along North Terrace to the END of the LINE
(just west and close to the Morphett Street
bridge). Upon arrival, I asked the driver who
was changing ends and now carrying the SHUTTLE TRAIN
headboard, how long before we leave - He said,
"About three and a half minutes'. After six
minute the driver made an announcement to the three
passengers (myself included).
"Sorry this tram will not be going anywhere for
a while The headlights are not working".
So changed onto the next tram which arrived a short
time later... (END of STORY). |

NEW
SOUTH
ROAD TRAM OVERPASS |
|
18th October 2009
South Road Tram Overpass (bridge or whatever!).
I assume it will be given some dopey name which
will mean absolutely nothing in thirty years time.
Like "Transport Minister Conlons' Bridge or similar."

These pictures taken today showing the nearly finished
Tram Stop 6 (South Road-high level tram platforms). Walked over the
bridge / overpass, you will notice that there is a bike lane (a big one)
included on the northern side of the 'erection'.
Took other pictures from the high point (through the circular patterned finish) of the overpass towards the Gallipoli Underpass where South Road
goes under Anzac Highway.
